When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d switch on your dipped headlights?

Simply click them on and turn them off (unless you need to keep them on). If travelling in conditions where headlights are already switched on, you can quickly switch them off and flick them back on (providing there is no traffic around that may be confused and it is safe to do so).
